200 ml Altis Classic Olive Oil
190 g sugar
100 g roughly chopped walnuts
50 g raisins
250 ml carbonated orange drink
380 g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking soda
1½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground cloves

RECIPE
EXECUTION

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a bowl, mix together the flour with the baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, raisins and walnuts.

Pour the olive oil into the mixer bowl, add the sugar, and beat for 2 minutes.

Add the orange drink and gradually add the flour in three batches.

Transfer the mixture to a medium baking tin (greased) and bake for about 50 minutes at 180°C.

As soon as the cake has cooled, cut it into pieces and dust with icing sugar (optional).

 

Tips:
– Traditionally, Fanouropita Cake is made either with 9 or 11 ingredients, so you can add a little brandy and some lemon zest, if you like.
